Who We Are

At Remote Care Inc. and PDC Remote Care (collectively “PDC”), we prioritize your privacy. PDC is a technology and service provider that supports healthcare professionals. We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. However, under HIPAA, we may receive or interact with Protected Health Information (PHI) in our role as a Business Associate to physicians and healthcare providers. In some cases, we communicate directly with patients under the instruction of their provider, strictly following pre-approved protocols (e.g., follow-ups on biometric data, device use, or alerts received on our platform).

Our HIPAA Responsibilities

As a Business Associate, we are required to:
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Protected Health Information (PHI) we receive, store, or transmit
  • Use or disclose PHI only as permitted by our contracts and HIPAA regulations
  • Report any unauthorized use or breach of PHI to the covered entity
  • Support covered entities in fulfilling HIPAA rights (e.g., access, correction)

How We Use or Disclose PHI

We may use or disclose PHI:
  • To support healthcare providers in delivering care
  • For technical support, analytics, or data processing, per contract
  • For regulatory or legal compliance
  • To prevent or respond to security threats or breaches
We do not use PHI for our own marketing or commercial gain, nor do we sell PHI. Use of De-identified Information As permitted under HIPAA, we may convert PHI into de-identified information by removing or coding personal identifiers. De-identified data does not identify you and is not subject to HIPAA. We may use or disclose de-identified data for analytics, research, product development, or operational improvements.

Patient Interactions

When authorized by your provider, PDC may:
  • Contact you to follow up on device readings or other data received on our platform
  • Deliver scripted or protocol-driven messages based on your provider’s clinical rules
  • Refer all care-related questions back to your provider
We do not provide independent medical advice or diagnosis.

Your Rights as a Patient

We do not respond directly to patient requests regarding PHI. If you wish to:
  • Access or correct your PHI
  • Request restrictions or confidential communications
  • File a HIPAA-related complaint
You must contact your healthcare provider (Covered Entity) directly. We will support them as required by HIPAA.
HIPAA Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach involving PHI, we will notify the Covered Entity as required under the HIPAA Breach Notification Rule so that they can notify you, if necessary.
